Some nights capture exactly why we do this work. The Blue Jeans Ball was one of those nights.

From the moment guests began to arrive, familiar faces caught up, new supporters were greeted, and the room filled with a quiet pride for the students in their blue corduroy jackets. It was an evening centered on community and generosity.

A Message of Leadership

Before the auction even started, Senator John Barrasso reminded us why we were there. He spoke about the remarkable leaders who come through the FFA program and how Wyoming students continue to set the bar for character and service. Hearing that from one of our state’s own leaders set the tone for everything that followed.

The Auction Comes Alive

When the bidding began, Malik Hegge had the crowd laughing and raising paddles in every direction. He made the live auction a celebration, not just a fundraiser, and the excitement never let up.

Legacy of a Blue Jacket

The moment that will stay with me, though, was the Legacy of a Blue Jacket Paddle Raise. As my first Blue Jeans Ball, one that came about in a very short amount of time, I might add, the evening was already incredible. To be surrounded by so many people who share in the same passion for FFA was so special. As a mom of three FFA chapter officers, I've seen the growth and opportunity that comes from a Blue Cordouroy jacket. In Wyoming, the FFA jacket might be the only official "uniform" of a student's high school career that will carry their name on it, whether they are from a big 4A school, or a tiny 1A school. After a short video featuring the State Officers, paddles were raised in all corners of the room. By the end, fifty jackets were sponsored. I have already given out thirty this year, and now we can more than double that impact. Each jacket means a young person will feel the confidence and belonging that comes with being part of FFA.

Thank You to Our Supporters

None of this would be possible without the people who show up for Wyoming FFA again and again. Thank you to:

Your support reaches every corner of this state.

Why Wyoming FFA Matters

What we raised that night is already at work. It funds scholarships, leadership training, classroom resources, and experiences that shape the next generation of agricultural leaders. It helps a student zip up a Blue Jacket for the first time and know that their community believes in them.

To everyone who attended, donated, and cheered us on—thank you. The Blue Jeans Ball proved once again that when Wyoming FFA comes together, amazing things happen. I cannot wait to see where we go next. See you in 2026!
