Each year, the Saddle and Sirloin Chapter from Newcastle High School organizes an interactive learning experience for local fourth graders, giving them a chance to explore agriculture and animal care up close. This year, under the guidance of advisor Morgan Loepp, the chapter brought a variety of animals for students to meet, including horses, goats, chickens, ducks, a turkey, and rabbits.

In addition to meeting the animals, students had the opportunity to participate in interactive stations. They learned to rope on practice dummies and explored the ins and outs of a tractor, gaining hands-on experience with skills used in agriculture and ranching.

Twenty four Saddle and Sirloin FFA members participated in the event, serving as group leaders or bringing animals and equipment to share. Their leadership and enthusiasm helped create a welcoming environment for the fourth graders as they learned, asked questions, and tried new activities.

The event continues to be a highlight each year. Students leave with memorable experiences, new skills, and a greater appreciation for agriculture and the work FFA members do. The Saddle and Sirloin Chapter looks forward to continuing this annual tradition and inspiring young learners for years to come.
